Membership Requirements

Becoming A Member

Please understand that the CVMA is NOT a motorcycle club.  We are an ASSOCIATION.  We do not prospect.  The blank check that you wrote to our great nation surpasses any prospecting requirements that could be imposed by this organization.

Please read through the documentation on this page before making the decision to join.  Afterward, if you believe CVMA 23-7 is the right fit for you, the following process and requirements will guide you through membership.

Membership Criteria

There are three (3) levels of membership: Full Member, Auxiliary Member & Supporter Member.

Full Member

  A full member earns this status by meeting the following criteria:

  • Of Good Character
  • Has served in a combat zone.
  • Acceptable proof for membership submitted along with your membership application
       1. Copy of DD-214 (member 4 version preferred)
       2. Active duty/Reservist/Guard member must show proof of your combat military service on official DOD stationary or forms by:
           – Documentation by Name
           – Orders (no codes – In English)
           – Army ERB/ORB (2-1)
           – Marine Corps/Navy page 4
           – Air Force award data record page
           – Coast Guard PDR Award page
  • Must own and operate a motorcycle of 30.50 cu in (500cc) or greater.
  • Annual dues of $20 (CVMA members deployed in a war zone will have dues waived)

Auxiliary Member

An auxiliary member earns this status by meeting the following criteria:

  • Of Good Character
  • Must be a spouse, widow, or widower of a full member in good standing with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
  • Submit proof of eligibility such as marriage certificate or death certificate.
  • Must support the efforts of ALL branches of the United States of Americas Armed Forces and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
  • Annual dues of $10
  • Will no hold no position in the BOD
  • Will have no vote in CVMA business

Supporter Member

An auxiliary member earns this status by meeting the following criteria:

  • Of Good Character
  • Must own and operate a motorcycle of 30.50 cu in (500cc) or greater.
  • Must be a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and must surrender a copy of one of the following forms of validation.
       1. Copy of DD-214 (member 4 version preferred)
       2. Active duty/Reservist/Guard member must show proof of your combat military service on official DOD stationary or forms by:
             – Documentation by Name
             – Orders (no codes – In English)
             – Army ERB/ORB (2-1)
             – Marine Corps/Navy page 4
             – Air Force award data record page
             – Coast Guard PDR Award page
  • Maximum number of supporter members must not exceed 10% of the State Full Membership.  This equates to one supporter member per 10 full members.
  • Must read and abide by all CVMA by-laws applicable to them.  
  • Must submit application and proof of military service through a CVMA Full member.  That full member must have held a membership for not less than one year.
  • Must have ridden a minimum of 3,000 miles with their sponsor, attended three CVMA events or be known by their sponsor for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Only 1 support member can be vouched on per year by an individual CVMA full member.
  • Will have no vote in CVMA business
  • Cannot hold a position on the BOD
  • Annual dues of $10
  • Eligible to wear the CVMA Support Patch on the front of their vest/jacket and can also wear the 10″ support back patch (both will be provided by their sponsor)
